The 3rd annual NCURA Region VI & VII Golf Tournament will take place on Saturday, April 18th at the Kauai Lagoons Resort. The resort is the closest to the Outrigger Hotel and consists of two golf courses, The Kiele Course and the Lagoons Course. Our tournament will take place on the Lagoons Course which is an 18-hole Bermuda Grass course with water in play. The course was built in 1989 and designed by Jack Nicklaus. Below is some additional information I pulled from the Internet along with the URL in case anyone is interested.
Starting times for 40 golfers will begin at 8:04 am. Since we are in Hawaii golf will be more expensive than in the past. The best rate I could get was $85.00 per player and this includes the green fees, cart/practice facility and spa use. The fee for this years event will be $90 which will include $5 per person for prizes for closest to the pin, longest drive and low team score. This year we will play a scramble format so if you would like to put your own team together please let me know, otherwise I will try to match players up with preferred playing partners as in the past.
In order to secure a spot in this years tournament, your
application
& fee must be received by me no later than March 31st.
Below is a blurb I pulled from the Internet regarding the resort:
"This resort, which was named to "GOLF Magazine's" 1996 list of "Silver Medal Resorts," features two regulation eighteen hole courses. The Kiele Course is very demanding and requires several shots over ravines. "Golf Digest" ranked it 15th among the "Top 75 Resort Courses" in 1992, and in 1996 it was rated 60th among the "Top Upscale Courses." The same publication rated it the 6th "Best in State" course in 1995-96, and 7th in 1997-98. In addition, "GOLF Magazine" nominated it 55th among the "Top 100 You Can Play In The U.S." in 1996. The Lagoons Course is a bit easier and much more forgiving off the tee."
